As you know, the number of Spanish speakers living in the US is increasing rapidly and will continue the uphill trend. By learning Spanish for your profession you are ensuring optimal service to patients.

Description

This is a self-paced activity consists of 6 web-based instructional modules with active learning exercises, self-assessments and a written manual. It has been customized to teach you the Spanish you need for your profession. You will learn vital pronunciation skills since you will be speaking the language much more frequently than you will be writing it. Then you will learn grammatical formulas that will enable you to put together any necessary phrase or sentence for a variety of situations. You will earn the grammar you need to communicate effectively with patients. The next 2 modules cover basic vocabulary including greetings, numbers, days and times. These sections will prime you for what’s to come. It will also enable you to engage in small talk with any Spanish speaker. The last two lessons are vital. They contain specific pharmaceutical terminology which you will need in assessment and counseling of patients. They cover body parts, symptoms, conditions, drugs, allergies, directions for use, insurance information and patient information. These lessons contain expressions that are already put together for your use as well as easy formulas for you to create your own phrases

This program is intended for Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who interact with Spanish speaking patients.

Module 3: Grammar - Verbs
Module 4: Basic Vocabulary
Module 5: Pharmaceutical Vocabulary
Module 6: Pharmaceutical Vocabulary (con't)

Requirements

All modules, active learning, and self -assessments (post-tests) must be completed with 90 days of registration to receive continuing education credit. A coupon code is provided after the completion of all modules - this code is used to access the online evaluation. After completion of the evaluation, the participant may award credit and print statement of credit. No partial credit will be awarded.

Please register at Hands on Spanish. When you have completed all lessons you will be issued a coupon code and directed to this site to complete the course evaluation and receive continuing education credit.
