The H1N1 Pandemic Influenza has infected nearly 50 million people, caused 200,000 hospitalizations and resulted in 10,000 deaths. Are you prepared to help your community deal with this continuing threat? Hurricane Katrina took over 1800 lives, left some 9000 people homeless and caused over 80 billion dollars in damage. Do you know what natural disasters could strike in your community? your State? Nearly 3000 Americans died on September 11, 2001. The Georgia Board of Pharmacy enacted a new rule this year requiring that all pharmacists licensed in the state obtain 3 hours of disaster preparedness continuing education. This series of 3 presentation is designed to provide and introduction to disasters for pharmacists and outline the steps involved preparing for, planning for and responding to emergencies.

Target Audience

This program is intended for all Licensed Pharmacists in Georgia.

Schedule

Program will be held in Pharmacy South, Room 201 on the UGA Campus

Registration 8:00-8:30am
Program 8:30-11:30am
Wrap-Up and Evaluation 11:30am

NOTE:Parking for football games is very limited South of Carlton Street. Most lots are permit only. There will not be any reserved spaces for Pharmacy CE program attendees. It is recommended that attendees be dropped off and picked up after the program if you do not have a football parking permit.

Requirements

The program will provide 3.0 hours (0.30 CEU) of continuing pharmacy education credit for pharmacists. Attendance and participation is required for individual sessions plus completion of the request for CE credit and course evaluation. Statements of credit will be mailed within 6 weeks of the activity.

Please note: Refund requests for registration cancellation will not be accepted after October 10, 2010 at 5:00pm.
