Total Parenteral Nutrition Support Workshop and Certificate Program
Description
Nutrition support has become increasingly important as hospital length of stays have decreased dramatically in the last 20 years. The pharmacist’s role in managing nutrition support is vital to assure that the patient’s recovery from surgery and serious health problems stays on track. This activity is intended for pharmacists working in acute and long term settings where total parenteral nutrition is utilized.
LIVE WORKSHOP
The 2-day workshop provides 15 hours of continuing pharmacy education in a dynamic classroom environment. Each module of instruction includes problem solving and interactive learning. Ample time for peer networking, sharing best practices and group discussion are provided. Small class size (limited to 30 students per class) assures individual attention and structured learning.
NOTE: Completion of the 15 hour workshop is a prerequisite for the 15 hour homestudy activity to complete requirements for the practice-based certificate in Total Parenteral Nutrition.
