Upon completion of the corresponding textbook chapter in Pharmacotherapy Principles & Practice and this on-line assessment, the reader should be able to:

1. Identify the risk factors for colon cancer.
2. Recognize the signs and symptoms of colon cancer.
3. Describe the treatment options for colon cancer based on patient-specific factors, such as stage of disease, age of patient, and previous treatment received.
4. Outline the pharmacologic principles for agents used to treat colon cancer.
5. Develop a monitoring plan to assess the efficacy and toxicity of agents used in colon cancer.
6. Educate patients about the adverse effects of chemotherapy that require specific patient counseling.
7. Outline preventive and screening strategies for individuals at average and high risk for colon cancer.
