Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
1. Identify oral anticoagulation products currently in development and discuss the safety and efficacy of these products.
2. Explore the role of patient self-testing for monitoring of anticoagulation in combination with automated online pharmacist monitoring.
3. Prepare pharmacists to meet patient safety goals in the setting of anticoagulation management.
4. Demonstrate the use of technology (hardware and software) by pharmacists and patients in monitoring anticoagulation therapy.
5. Justify the cost savings associated with pharmacist management of anticoagulation to the patient and the healthcare system.
